Who is this course for?

This five day course is suitable for Authorised Firearms Officers [AFO] needing extended medical training and is designed to  balance the demands of tactics and medicine.

What do you cover?

The recently published guidance in the NPIA’s D13 states that an AFO [Enhanced] must demonstrate competence in:

Standard Level First Aid [including]

Scene management

Care of an unconscious casualty

Basic Life Support

Ballistic injuries

Automated External Defibrillation

Management of breathing problems

Use of haemostatic dressings

Treatment of abdominal wounds

Burns and scalds

Medical conditions such as diabetes

Poisoning

The motorcyclist as a casualty
